Verified Customer • Checkatrade ReviewJeweller 868MHz: Encrypted 2,000m Wireless Range Through Stone
Halifax presents unique structural challenges, ranging from 19th-century Victorian gritstone mill terraces in Marsh, Lockwood, and Paddock to modern timber-framed and dot-and-dab executive homes across Lindley, Fixby, and Birchencliffe. Solid Pennine sandstone blocks are incredibly tough, requiring high-torque rotary percussion drilling and specialized multi-point structural anchors.
Gary Pearce evaluates every substrate on arrival. We avoid soft lime mortar joints entirely, anchoring directly into dense stone or using certified structural sleeves to span interior insulation cavities without bowing plasterboard.
MotionCam: 9-Second Animated Photo Verification Sent Directly To Your Phone
Standard trade shortcuts often cause catastrophic failures in West Yorkshire properties. Whether dealing with hollow cavities, high-frequency RF attenuation, or signal interference from neighbouring cellular masts, our installations enforce verified commercial standards.
Cavity Bridging
In modern drywall over thermalite blocks, weight is transferred past the fragile plasterboard directly into the rear load-bearing masonry using heavy-duty steel sleeves.
Weatherproofing
Exterior cable penetrations are sealed with silicone drip loops and UV-stabilized grommets to stop Pennine driving rain from penetrating Calderdale stone facades.
Spectrum Verification
Every data link, aerial feed, and RF frequency is rigorously certified using calibrated Fluke and Promax test meters before we hand over the job.
Fibra Hybrid Technology: Combining Wired Reliability With Wireless Agility
We never use budget wholesale components or unbranded brackets. Every bracket, coaxial run, RJ45 faceplate, and security sensor installed across Halifax is manufactured from commercial-grade steel, double-screened pure copper, or Grade 2 certified components.
- Commercial-grade cold-rolled steel brackets tested to 4x working load
- CAI-benchmarked double-screened pure copper cabling (WF100 / Cat6)
- Galvanized Pennine storm cradles rated for 90mph valley gales

Straightforward technical guidance for homeowners and business operators across Halifax.
What makes Ajax wireless alarms more reliable than standard DIY alarms?
Ajax operates on Grade 2 certified Jeweller radio protocol at 868MHz, using floating code encryption and two-way polling every 12 seconds. If a frequency jammer or tamper is detected, the Hub immediately sounds the siren and pushes instant emergency notifications.
Can Ajax sensors penetrate thick Yorkshire stone walls?
Yes. Ajax Jeweller delivers an unprecedented wireless transmission range of up to 2,000 metres in open air. In heavy stone Halifax mill properties, it easily penetrates dense 500mm masonry without requiring signal repeaters.
How does MotionCam photo verification work?
When an intruder triggers the MotionCam detector, its integrated wide-angle camera captures a rapid burst of photos and delivers an animated series to your smartphone in less than 9 seconds, allowing you to instantly distinguish real intruders from false alarms.
Are there any mandatory monthly fees with an Ajax alarm?
No. Ajax allows complete self-monitoring with full push notifications, live status checks, and arm/disarm capabilities via the Ajax smartphone app with zero monthly subscriptions. You own the hardware outright.
How much does professional Ajax alarm installation cost in Halifax?
Complete Ajax starter kits with Hub 2, MotionCam, DoorProtect contact, SpaceControl keyfob, and StreetSiren start from £599 + VAT fully installed and commissioned.
How long do the sensor batteries last?
Ajax sensors utilize pre-installed industrial lithium batteries engineered for up to 5 to 7 years of maintenance-free continuous operation, and the app warns you months before a replacement is required.
Can I control the alarm when away on holiday?
Yes. The Ajax app gives you total remote control anywhere in the world. You can arm, disarm, bypass zones, view temperature readings, and check device battery health in real time.
Can you integrate fire, smoke, and water leak detection into the same system?
Yes. We integrate Ajax FireProtect 2 smoke and heat detectors and LeaksProtect water sensors, providing immediate early warnings on your phone before major household damage occurs.
Can Ajax arm automatically when I leave home?
Yes. Using geofencing features on your smartphone, Ajax can remind you to arm the system as you leave Halifax, or execute automated bedtime arming schedules at set times.
How quickly can Gary install an Ajax alarm system in Halifax?
We carry complete Ajax Grade 2 kits in stock on our mobile engineering van. We can typically schedule and complete your full installation within 24 to 48 hours.
