Ajax Smart Alarm Installation In Mellor, Blackburn BB2 Grade 2 Wireless Security For Ridge Cottages, Barns & Executive Estates
Protecting high-value rural properties across Mellor Brow and Church Lane requires uncompromising smart security. Gary Pearce installs certified Ajax Grade 2 wireless systems engineered to penetrate thick sandstone walls, secure detached outbuildings up to 2,000m away, and deliver instant 9-second visual verification directly to your smartphone.
The Mellor Rural Profile: Detached Grounds, Luxury Vehicles & Outbuildings
Perched on an elevated ridge overlooking the Ribble Valley, Mellor features affluent detached residences, converted stone barns, and properties with expansive grounds that require proactive perimeter defence.
Isolated Ridge Locations
Properties situated along Mellor Brow, Saccary Lane, and Carter Fold suffer from dark country lane perimeters. Intruders target secluded rear gardens shielded from neighbours by mature hedges.
- ! Extended police response times
- ! Shielded rear access routes
Detached Garages & Workshops
Many executive homes feature detached double or triple garages housing performance vehicles, ride-on mowers, and tools. Traditional hardwired alarms cannot reach these outbuildings without trenching.
- ! High-value tool and vehicle theft
- ! Vulnerable perimeter outbuildings
Large Glazed Bifolds & Patios
Contemporary extensions and barn conversions feature wide aluminium sliding doors and bifolds. Opportunistic intruders frequently attempt to force bifold locking mechanisms or shatter glass unnoticed.
- ! Large ground-floor glass expanses
- ! Requires early perimeter shock detection
Jeweller 868MHz Protocol: Cutting Through 500mm Sandstone
Standard consumer wireless alarms operating on crowded 2.4GHz Wi-Fi frequencies fail completely when trying to penetrate historic Pennine sandstone walls. Ajax operates on the proprietary Jeweller 868MHz narrow-band radio protocol, engineered for immense RF penetration and complete immunity to signal jamming.
Up to 2,000m Open-Air Transmission
Effortlessly links main residence hubs to distant perimeter gates, detached garages, and garden offices without requiring complex repeater cabling.
Automated Frequency Hopping & Anti-Jamming
If interference or deliberate RF jamming is detected, the hub instantly hops frequencies and triggers an audible tamper alarm on your smartphone.
Quad-Channel Connectivity (Hub 2 Plus)
Connects via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and dual 4G/LTE SIM cards from separate cellular networks, guaranteeing alerts reach you even if telephone cables are cut.
Ajax Hub 2 Plus Security Gateway
Quad-channel failover: Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and dual independent 4G/LTE mobile SIM cards.

Frequently Asked Questions: Ajax Alarms In Mellor
Direct, factual answers regarding wireless protocols, pet immunity, outbuilding coverage, and subscription fees.
Does the Ajax wireless signal penetrate thick sandstone walls in Mellor?
Yes. Ajax uses the proprietary Jeweller 868MHz radio protocol, which penetrates 350-500mm solid Pennine gritstone walls with a free-space transmission range up to 2,000 metres. Even in multi-level historic cottages, signal strength remains exceptionally strong without messy wiring.
How does the Hub 2 Plus maintain connection if rural broadband or power fails?
The Hub 2 Plus features quad-channel communication failover. It connects simultaneously via hardwired Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and dual 2G/3G/4G LTE SIM cards from separate cellular networks, supported by an internal backup battery lasting up to 15 hours during rural power cuts.
Can Ajax protect detached garages, workshops, and outbuildings in Mellor?
Yes. Because Jeweller transmits up to 2,000 metres in open air, we can protect detached garages, agricultural barns, and garden offices without running underground trenches, alerting your phone immediately if an outbuilding is breached.
What is MotionCam PhOD and how does visual photo verification work?
MotionCam PhOD incorporates an animated infrared camera. When motion is detected, it transmits an encrypted series of photos to your smartphone within 9 seconds, allowing you to instantly confirm whether an alarm is genuine or triggered by family members.
How much does Ajax smart alarm installation cost in Mellor?
The Ajax Starter Kit starts from £599 + VAT. The Photo Verification Kit starts from £699 + VAT, and the comprehensive Executive Perimeter Suite starts from £849 + VAT, all fully installed by certified engineer Gary Pearce.
Are Ajax smart alarm systems insurance approved in the UK?
Yes. Ajax systems are independently certified to EN 50131 Grade 2 standards, which satisfies UK insurance requirements for high-value residential properties, art collections, and rural executive homes.
Will pets trigger false alarms with Ajax motion detectors?
No. Ajax MotionProtect sensors utilize the SmartDetect software algorithm. They ignore pets weighing up to 20kg and under 50cm in height by assessing thermal heat signatures and movement speed, preventing annoying false triggers.
Can outdoor detectors prevent intrusions before windows or bifolds are broken?
Yes. We install Ajax DualCurtain Outdoor and Curtain detectors along patio bifolds and perimeter walls. These sensors create an invisible narrow infrared curtain that triggers an alert as soon as someone steps onto your terrace.
Is there a mandatory monthly subscription fee to use the Ajax alarm?
No. Ajax provides full smartphone control, instant push notifications, and photo viewing completely free with zero mandatory monthly subscription fees. Optional professional 24/7 ARC monitoring can be added if required.
How quickly can Gary install an Ajax system in Mellor?
We operate locally across Blackburn and the Ribble Valley. We typically offer same-week survey and installation appointments across Mellor, Mellor Brow, and surrounding rural enclaves.
